How do I know if my data made it to tape or not?

1. Open up the LTO task log in question.

2. The summary Report at the top of the log will Indicate succession.  If number of files and percentage are the most importanat in this area of the log. 

There is a difference between errors and warnings. 

Warnings are more general.  If a file is not able to be calculate or extract metadata or so forth, that means it likely made it to tape but was not able to read attributes of the file.

Errors will mean it did not make it to tape, the files were not able to read at all, or maybe a checksum was performed and the file did not complete in full.  

3. When viewing the entire log, scroll to the bottom.  If data made it to tape successfully, the TOC will be written and will say job succeeded.
