What is the Catalog Maintenance Task?
The catalog maintenance task backs up the database system wide which includes items such as users, permissions, tapes, platform spaces and so forth so the system database tables will be logged.
If the catalog maintenance is not running, we recommend setting up a scheduled backup for this.
Recommended setup:
1. Have the Catalog Backup Platform Space added to the UI.
2. Go to the Settings Screen, select the Catalog Backup platform space and click 'Go'.
3. Set a schedule of at least once a day on weekdays. You may do weekends as well if you'd like and the time preferred. We recommend at least 30 backups. Click 'Okay' when finished as the task will be added.
