I can't plug my MediaHub to my router, what should I do?

No problem! The Mediahub is designed to work in a number of configurations.

If you can't plug your MediaHub directly to your router to get setup, you can physically plug it directly into your workstation or laptop and configure it to talk to your router (and the internet) via a wifi connection. It takes a few extra steps to accomplish this, but it's actually one of the best configurations available as it guarantees the fastest possible speed from the MediaHub to your workstation. Here's how to do it:

PC

    • Physically plug the MediaHub into an open network port on your workstation or laptop. Don't worry if you need to unplug your existing network cable from your workstation first, this step can be a temporary one.
    • Set your workstation's IP address to 10.10.10.2
    • Open the "Remote Desktop Connection" program from your start menu and connect to the IP 10.10.10.1
      • User: Admin
      • PW: Promax123
    • Once Logged into the Mediahub desktop, navigate to the lower right hand system tray menu near the clock, and select the network icon.
      • Choose and connect to your wifi network using your wifi password
    • Close "Remote Desktop Connection"
    • You can now proceed from Step 2 of the Mediahub PC Setup Guide to finish setting up your system.

Mac

    • Open the App Store and download the "Microsoft Remote Desktop" utility
    • Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app and connect to the IP 10.10.10.1
      • User: Admin
      • PW: Promax123
    • Once Logged into the Mediahub desktop, navigate to the lower right hand system tray menu near the clock, and select the network icon.
      • Choose and connect to your wifi network using your wifi password
    • Close "Microsoft Remote Destktop" App
    • You can now proceed from Step 2 of the Mediahub Mac Setup Guide to finish setting up your system.
