What’s new in ProMax Platform?
774: Enhanced Project Space Mounting on Mac Devices
In response to user feedback and to enhance the user experience, we are introducing a significant enhancement to how project spaces are mounted on Mac devices. This feature brings two major improvements to the way users interact with their project spaces, offering greater control and a more streamlined experience.
Standardized Mac Mount Location:
Users' new project spaces will now be mounted in the well-known and standard /Volumes directory on their Mac. This change ensures that project spaces behave just like any other mounted drives on the system. Users no longer need to worry about special configurations or actions when working with volumes.
Customizable Mount Locations:
Recognizing the importance of flexibility, we are introducing a new feature that puts users in control. Users can now customize the mount location for their project spaces on Mac devices according to their specific needs and preferences.
2490: ProMax Sync Version Upgrade
We are pleased to announce the upgrade of ProMax Sync on Platform. This upgrade brings a host of improvements and WAN optimizations to enhance the user’s syncing experience.
- TCP Multi-stream Connections:
As part of this upgrade, devices can sustain multiple connections between peers. This adjustment optimizes the syncing process, ensuring efficient data transfer.
This setting has been fine-tuned, providing an optimal buffer size for receiving data. This optimization ensures smoother and more reliable data transfers.
To enhance I/O performance, limitations on the number of concurrent writes have been unlocked. This improvement results in faster and more efficient syncing of your data.
The global setting has been adjusted, accommodating multiple active folders with ease. This change ensures that sync requests are handled efficiently, even when dealing with a substantial amount of data.
Bugs and Issues Fixed
1190: File Versioning is being set on reboot even if it's being explicitly turned off by the user in syncthing directly
We have successfully resolved an issue regarding the persistence of file versioning being continuously enabled on reboot. Previously, users encountered a problem where, despite explicitly turning off file versioning via the admin interface, it would re-enable after a reboot on individual spaces.
With this update, we have addressed the problem, ensuring that file versioning remains off if explicitly turned off by the user via the admin interface. Users can now have confidence that their file versioning preferences will be respected and maintained, providing a more reliable and user-friendly experience.
2370: Incorrect Context Menu Option in Project Spaces Page
We have successfully resolved an issue in the Project Spaces page where the context menu displayed incorrect options when users right-clicked on a project space. Instead of the expected context menu options, the context menu showed a single option labeled "Mount Dismount." This incorrect option was causing confusion among users, as the other expected context menu options were missing.
2425: Drive letters not freed up after project space deletion
Identified and resolved an issue where drive letters were not being released after the deletion of a project space. Previously, if a project space was configured to force mount to a specific drive letter and then deleted without turning off this configuration, the associated drive letter remained reserved in the database and unavailable for future use.
With this fix, we have ensured that drive letters are correctly released in the database upon the deletion of a project space. Users can now confidently expect that drive letters will become available for future use after the removal of a project space, eliminating potential conflicts and streamlining the allocation of drive letters.
2427: Resolved database update failure during installation
We have successfully resolved an issue that resulted in database update failures during the installation of the Platform. This problem affected users in two scenarios: when updating via the UI and when performing a clean installation.
With this fix, users can now install the Platform without encountering any database update failures. We have addressed the underlying issues that were causing these errors, ensuring a smoother and more reliable installation experience.
2428: Resolved "No Storage Group Detected" Message
We have successfully resolved an issue where users were encountering an incorrect "No Storage Group Detected" message, even when storage groups were present in the system.
With this fix, we have addressed the issue, ensuring that the "No Storage Group Detected" message is no longer displayed when storage groups are present in the system. Users can now rely on accurate messaging regarding the status of their storage groups.
2432: Removal of Unexpected Notice in Users Page
We have resolved a bug where the Users page in the Platform was displaying an unexpected notice that read "Company Domain currently unreachable - this is expected." This notice was not intended to be included in the build and has been removed in this update.
2433: Resolved "Switch All Mac Mounts to" Configuration Issue
We have successfully resolved an issue related to the "Switch All Mac Mounts to" configuration in the Settings page. Previously, users encountered difficulties when configuring this option under the Project Spaces tab, as it did not function as expected.
With this fix, we have addressed the issue, ensuring that the "Switch All Mac Mounts to" configuration now functions correctly. Users can confidently select either "Volumes" or "Applications" as their desired mount location, and project spaces will be mounted accordingly in the Project Spaces screen.
2457: Unable to Reset Search Index from Project Spaces page
We have resolved an issue where users were unable to reset the search index from the Project Spaces page of the Platform. Previously, right-clicking on a project space, selecting "Asset Management," and choosing "Reset Search Index" did not trigger any action, and the search index remained unchanged.
With this fix, we have restored the functionality to reset the search index from the Project Spaces page. Users can now confidently right-click on a project space, select "Asset Management," and choose "Reset Search Index" to initiate the task of resetting the search index for the selected project space.
2458: Unable to Mount or Open project spaces via context menu
We have successfully resolved an issue that was preventing users from mounting or opening project spaces via the context menu on the Project Spaces page. Previously, when users attempted to right-click on a project space and select the corresponding option from the context menu, the expected action did not occur.
With this fix, we have restored the functionality to mount and open project spaces via the context menu on the Project Spaces page. Users can now confidently right-click on a project space and select the desired option from the context menu to perform the intended action.
2459: Resolved Incorrect link on Downloads Page for Mac
We have successfully resolved an issue where Mac users encountered an incorrect link on the Downloads page, preventing them from accessing files. Instead of displaying the correct link format with the Platform address followed by "/download," the link only showed "download/," resulting in "The site can't be reached" error message.
With this fix, we have fixed the link on the Downloads page for Mac users. Now, when users navigate to the Downloads page, the link is displayed in the correct format, ensuring that they can access and download files without any issues.
2483: Resolved Pagination Reset Issue on Project Spaces Page
We have successfully resolved a bug that was causing automatic refresh to reset the pagination on the Project Spaces page. Previously, when users navigated to page 2 or any subsequent page using the pagination controls, the project space table automatically refreshed and returned the user to the first page of results, disrupting the browsing experience.
With this fix, we have addressed the issue, ensuring that the automatic refresh no longer resets the pagination on the Project Spaces page. Users can now navigate to different pages using the pagination controls without disruption, providing a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
2506: Restored Functionality of Backup and Archive options in Project Space Context Menu
We are pleased to announce the successful resolution of an issue where the LTO buttons in the context menu were not functioning correctly in the Project Spaces page. Previously, users encountered difficulties when attempting to use the "Backup" and "Archive" options from the context menu.
With this fix, we have addressed the issue, ensuring that the LTO buttons on the context menu are now functioning as expected. Users can confidently use the "Backup" and "Archive" options to perform backup and archive operations without any disruptions.
