If your server is offline and you can't give it internet access to update the Platform software
To update the Platform software without having an internet connection, you will first need to download the Platform offline installer. Please contact support for this link. We also recommend that you schedule a support session during the update to ensure that a support engineer is available for real-time assistance.
If you use the sync feature on Platform you will need to create a copy of the C:\Program Files (x86)\ProMAX\ProMax Platform Sync Service\data folder before updating the software. The current manual process does not back this data up and you will need to reconnect and recreate the syncs if this folder is not backed up and recovered after the update.
1. Once the Platform offline installer has been downloaded, please copy to a location outside of the downloads folder. We usually use the desktop for this.
2. Right-click on the installer and select Run as Administrator.
3. Approve the file to run on the Windows User Account Control screen.
9. You will be prompted for the Admin or Platform service account password.
10. Enter the password and click on Okay.
11. Allow the process to run. The Platform console will update the log screen as the update progresses. You may need to scroll down as the process continues.
12. Once the log displays Success! you can close the console software. If you are using sync please goto the next step, otherwise please goto step 16.
13. To recover the sync data from before, you will need to stop the Promax Platform Sync process by right clicking the Windows Start Menu and selecting Task Manager.
14. Click More Details if shown, then find PromaxPlatformSyncService in the Processes list, right click on it and select End Task. Do the same for the 2 SyncThing Services.
15. Now the Data folder saved before can be copied into the C:\Program Files (x86)\ProMAX\ProMax Platform Sync Service folder. Be sure to overwrite all the files.
16. The Sync Service needs to be restarted from within Platform to keep Platform and Syncthing connected. Open the Platform interface and goto Settings (gear icon).
17. At the bottom of the General tab, right click on the status under Sync Service and select Start.
