Baremetal Backup Procedure


This document describes the procedure to be used when recovering a Platform Online server OS to a Baremetal Backup Image. You will need a copy of the Areca Raid Controller Driver (preferably on a USB drive), if you do not have this driver contact a Promax Support Technician. This document assumes you have a functioning Windows OS. If you cannot boot into Windows, follow the Promax Platform USB Recovery Procedure before moving forward.

Boot Into Advanced Startup Mode

1.) Restart the server while holding down the Shift Key

2.) SelectTroubleshoot

3.) Select System Image Recovery (The options on this screen may look somewhat different)

Recovering from the Baremetal Backup

1.) Select the Administrator user


2.) Enter the Default Password: Promax123


3.) SelectNext


4.)  Select Advanced and then Install a Driver


5.)  Select the USB Drive you saved the Areca Driver on


6.)  Open the Stor64 folder and select the arcmsr file


7.)  Install the Drivers


8.) The system will scan for images, you can skip this and select Refresh. Then select your system.

10.)Select Next


11.) Select Finish


Finishing up

The system will automatically reboot and will be restored to the exact state it was in when the image was created.
