How do I find the status, model, or serial number of a drive in my OS RAID?
On systems with motherboard RAIDs for the operating system disks, Intel RST can be used to find drive information.
Some systems use a RAID on the motherboard for the operating system drives. This is controlled using the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) app. This can be used to find the status of the RAID and the model and serial numbers of the drives in the RAID.
- Launch the Intel Rapid Storage Technology app from the Start Menu.
- The program should load up into the Status tab.
- If the status is good, the Current Status should say: Your system is functioning normally.
If there is a problem, it will give an indication of the issue. It could be listed as degraded, or give a SMART drive error code. - Clicking on one of the drives listed on the right side will give individual drive status and information, including model and serial number.
